This week's match report will start the same as any other ladies second team report with captain Lisa Jones losing the toss with Bardwell choosing to bowl first.
Felixstowe opened the batting with Lizzie Vincent and Rachael Jones; Lizzie following on her good form with the bat to retire again on (30no). Rachael Jones was the first wicket to fall from the bowling of Zoe Buckle for 6 having previously played the shot of the day up and over extra cover and looking in good touch. Felixstowe's captain Lisa Jones came in at 3 and provided some eye catching shots supporting Lizzie before eventually being bowled by Lynne Farrow for 14. Tracy Westley and Amelia Vincent provided some middle order impetus hitting (19no) and (16no) respectively leading Felixstowe to a very good score of 141-3.
Pick of the bowlers for Bardwell were Lynne Farrow with match figures of 4 overs, 2-20 and Zoe Buckle, 4 overs, 1-26 who helped keep the score chase-able for Bardwell.
Bardwell opened with Lynne Farrow and Jaala Eley, with the hosts opening with the bowling of Darcy Burrows and Elysha George. Lynne Farrow played some good shots without reward before falling to Darcy Burrows, caught by Tracy Westley in the covers. Good contributions from the top order of Bardwell - Jaala Eley (14), Ali Allston (11) and Laura Caunter (16) however Felixstowe managed to get wickets at the crucial times in the game with the wickets being spread across the bowling attack.
Darcy Burrows finished with 3-12, Elysha finished with 2-20 followed up well by Lucy Johnson, 1-3, Amelia Vincent, 1-13 and Anna Vincent 1-9.
Another good performance from Felixstowe ladies second team with a number of their young performers stepping up and contributing to a great win. Performance of the match goes to Lizzie Vincent continuing her good form with the bat and another 30no.
The ladies second team will look for a third win in succession when they visit Maldon on the 2nd June at the Promenade.
